Originally from California, DeAndre Kamele Brackensick is best known as an R&B soul singer, but throughout his teen years he also performed Hawaiian music and danced hula with award-winning Kumu Hula Kapua Dalire-Moe.

At age 16, he was a finalist on Season 11 of American Idol, placing in the top 8 and winning America over with his falsetto vocals. He then participated in the American Idol Tour, performing in 48 arenas across America, Canada and the Philippines.

DeAndre later moved to Hawai’i, living with relatives while attending college and performing in a variety of venues as a solo act. He embarked on a solo tour to Japan, Australia, and sold out venues in New Zealand, and lived in Australia for a time, where he was a judge on the Australian version of The Voice.

In addition to performing with well-known Hawaiian bands such as Nā Palapalai and artists such as IZIK, DeAndre has also performed and been a supporting act for such top artists as Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), Jamie Jones, John Legend, Sammy Johnson, John Elfante (Kansas), Patti LaBelle, Nelly, and Boys 2 Men.

He recently released his debut R&B album, “Black Denim”.
