70th Anniversary Mass Band Performance – Recorded on 12/07/11 #PH70Band

To mark the 70th Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. There was a performance by one of the largest bands ever assembled.

The performances took place between the Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri and was livestreamed to the world.

The performance featured 650 High School Band Students from all across America Performing The Star Spangled Banner, Salute to America’s Finest, Amazing Grace, America the Beautiful, Stars and Stripes Forever – directed by Pearl Harbor Survivor Allen Bodenlos – and a featured performance by the Kilgore Rangerettes of I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy!

  8. It is truly an honor to have my son Jacob and his fellow band members from Acadiana High School play for the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. As a daughter of a Navy Vet, my father served from 1957-1977 and he wsa very proud of Jacob for being a part of this event. We lost my father last month, but now I know he will be there with Jacob to see him play!

  14. I am Tristan Billiter’s Aunt in South Carolina and want to say that I hope he is having a blast. What an honor to be part of the Pearl Harbor event in Hawaii. They are very lucky to be there and great job to whoever planned all of this. I go onto the places they are visiting and see the island of Oahu and all the interesting history behind it. This group of young adults don’t know how lucky they are to be in Hawaii. Congratulations Ohio Band and make alot of memories. Don’t ever forget our fore fathers who lost their life in World War II and the veterans who served there for the freedom’s that we have today. God Bless America!!!!!

  15. I am very proud to announce that my grandson, Jordan, will be performing with the New Philadelphia Quaker Marching Band from Ohio. I pray that he and his friends have a safe and happy time, while pausing to remember the lives that were lost during World War II.

This is the hardest working and most respectful group of young adults that I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. A HUGE thank you to their directors, Mr. Michael Kilgore, Mrs. Holly Taylor, and Mr. Eric Petrinowitsch for giving these kids this tremendous opportunity to show respect to those who scarified so much for our great country.

  49. My wife and i attended the 65th anniversary at Pearl Harbor, we are members of the USS Arizona Assn, unfortunately we were not able to attend this year, however we are proud that the New Philadelphia Quakers Band was able to attend, and see a part of history.

  50. I am proud of the kids playing there from Payson, Az. We are such a small town in the mountains in the middle of Arizona and to just think… these kids will have something to be so proud of and a memory of this forever. Everyone in town is excited for you all. Make the world proud!
