Recorded Live: 2018 Special Olympics Hawaii Summer Games Opening Ceremony on May 25, 2018

Special Olympics athletes from across the state are getting ready to dive into one of the organization’s biggest competitions of the year. More than 1,200 local athletes and coaches have been preparing since February to compete in powerlifting, softball, track and field, and swimming at this year’s State Summer Games.

Athletes and coaches will parade into the Les Murakami Stadium Friday, May 25, 2018 for the organization’s Opening Ceremonies. The Opening Ceremonies kick off the weekend of competitions with a parade of athletes, coaches and families into the stadium with entertainment and a celebration for sponsors whose support helps to make the weekend’s events possible.
